3 New Sales Navigator Features Released

Sales Navigator is constantly evolving and has just launched 3 new features.

  1. Who Viewed My Company Page: A new search filter
  2. Share Searches: A feature in searches
  3. Search leads across all accounts: A feature in the Relationship map

Here’s what they are, what they do and what they’re useful for.

1. Who Viewed My Company Page: A new search filter

What it is: It’s a new filter available in the ‘Buyer intent’ section of Sales Navigator searches.

What does it do: It shows you the people viewing your company page.

Verdict: Amazing. When buyers are researching you, what you offer, and whether you can help them, they will first check your profile, company page, and website. This new filter shows you who is checking out your company page. A scaled-down version of this is available on the Premium Company Page product, but there is a cap at 1 person per day (i.e. 30 names per month). So this new feature enables us to see everyone.

Who can use it: The image above shows a screengrab from a Sales Navigator Advanced account (Sales Navigator Advanced or Advanced Plus), so they will have it. I am pretty sure it is not available in Sales Navigator Core accounts.

2. Share Searches: Feature for searches

What it is: It’s a new feature added to Sales Navigator searches.

What does it do: It enables a user to share their search with someone else in their team.

Verdict: Very useful. When I help clients with Teams set up Sales Navigator, I help them set up their Master searches individually. This approach will allow searches to be shared across employees, saving time and ensuring consistency. Sales leaders will find it very useful for assigning accounts to their sales teams to ensure they stay focused on the right ones.

Who can use it: This is currently available in Sales Navigator Core, Advanced and Advanced Plus accounts. However, it can’t be used by Core users, as they have no teammates (no Admin areas). An oversight by LinkedIn, which I’m sure they will correct soon.

3. Search leads across all accounts: In the Relationship map

What it is: It’s a new feature available on Account pages in Relationship maps.

What does it do: This new feature brings all relevant stakeholders into a single view.

Verdict: Should be useful for teams. This new feature is billed as “strengthens collaboration, improves deal strategy, and makes Relationship Maps a powerful opportunity tool”. It should be good for bringing in opportunities from colleagues within the same account and facilitating introductions rather than starting from cold. If this is so, it will be useful, but it hasn’t been rolled out to my account yet, so I haven’t had a chance to ‘play’ with it to know for sure.

Who can use it: This feature should be available only to those with teammates, i.e. those with Sales Navigator Advanced or Advanced Plus accounts.

In Summary

Since Sales Navigator first launched on July 31, 2014, new features have been added and some taken away.

These latest three new releases are adding a lot of value to the Sales Navigator Advanced or Advanced Plus accounts, and what you can do with them.

Their release adds to the question about whether individuals (or companies) should upgrade from Sales Navigator Core to a Sales Navigator Advanced account – see my previous articles on this topic below.

Yes, it’s more expensive, but you do get a lot more, and these latest drops add to that debate. Happy to advise further on this, so get in touch.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got all the updates yet. LinkedIn usually rolls out updates in batches. They tend to roll out updates to North America first, test the update and its uptake, and then roll them out to others based on the findings. These updates should be coming soon.

My opinion of these updates is very positive. I have only 1 of 3 as of the date of writing (I’m based in the UK), but they all look good. I can’t wait to receive the ‘Who Viewed My Company Page’ filter!

How many updates have you received? What are your thoughts on them?
