Sales Navigator: The A-Z (2026 Edition)

No tool stays static, and Sales Navigator is no different.

When updating the guide yesterday (I know I shouldn’t have been working on a Sunday!), I was surprised to see how much had changed since I updated the guide last year. Subtle changes, with some features slipping away and others added in.

The guide now has 20 to 22 spotlight pages, so be sure to review them for more detail on how to use the tool and how it can help you fill your pipeline.

In the article below, I’ll highlight the notable features added and the removals. In the last year, some useful features have been removed, but others have been added too. Let’s have a quick look at the updates.

Notable additions in 2026

There have been 2 notable additions:

‘Lead IQ’

Article content

Lead IQ is a feature available on Lead pages on Sales Navigator and is activated by clicking on the ‘Generate Lead IQ’ button.

Lead IQ gives a quick summary of insights to include in your message. If this summary shows a warm way in, do the research. Use it to identify those with whom you have a warm relationship.

‘Message Assist’

Article content

Message Assist (public beta) helps you generate outreach messages with AI, saving you time and aims to boost your response rates. It uses Lead IQ insights (e.g., commonalities or recent activity on LinkedIn) alongside Account IQ data (e.g., strategic priorities or challenges) to suggest a draft to send to the prospect.

💡 Download the Sales Navigator: The A-Z (2026 Edition) for more details on both of these. Both have a Spotlight page.

Notable removals in 2025

Search Updates

Account search: ‘Technologies used’ filter removed.

Lead filters: ‘Keywords in articles’ and ‘Mentioned in the news’ removed.

💡’Technologies used’ removal will be a blow for many uses, as it identifies companies that used specific technologies. That said, it had not been loading for several months before it was removed.

Alert Updates

Account alerts: ‘Account News’ removed

Lead alerts: ‘Lead Engagement’, ‘Lead News’, ‘Suggested leads’ in Lead Alerts (still on Account pages though)

Alert filtering: ‘Shared Activity’ removed.

💡Losing the two news alerts was a bit of a blow, as they were a quick and easy way to research and find conversation starters. That said, Account IQ and Lead IQ help with this.

In Summary

2025 wasn’t the busiest year for updates – 2024 had many more changes.

It’s quite clear, though, that the direction of travel for Sales Navigator is to add more AI tools to help salespeople start warm conversations with potential clients more efficiently.

For you in 2026, I would urge you to learn Sales Navigator. There’s no point paying for it and using less than 20% of what it can actually do, or even worse, not using it at all.

Hopefully, my Sales Navigator: The A-Z will be that first step to learning more.
