Sales Navigator Core to Advanced: Part 2 – Team Collaboration
The Sales Navigator Advanced plan is aimed at small sales teams (but is useful for indiviuals too as we saw in Part 1 and you’ll see in part 3). However, companies with more than one person responsible for Sales and Marketing would benefit from teaming up rather than working as indivduals with indiviual Core accounts.
In this article, I will review the features that are team-specific and where benefits can be gained from working together.
Team Collaboration & Admin Feature Upgrades
Sharing Lists
The feature I find most useful is the ability to share account and lead lists within a team.
Sharing lists is useful because it allows one account to serve as the master account with up-to-date data, and by sharing the lists, the other accounts can access this data. In this way, data needs to be updated in a single location rather than multiple locations. This saves time and ensures data accuracy.
What this looks like:
💡Use cases for this include: sharing your client list amongst the team so that no clients get treated like a prospect; the distribution of target accounts to team members.
TeamLink
TeamLink lets you view and search your team’s connections. Using it enables you to leverage the Sales Navigator license holders (and others) within your company to identify who can make a warm introduction for you.
‘TeamLink connections of’ is one of the ‘Lead filters’. It is used to filter leads to only show those that are connected to your Sales Navigator team members.
‘TeamLink Extend’ is a lesser-known feature. It is accessible via ‘Manage People’ in Admin. It enables companies to expand their TeamLink networks without granting members full Sales Navigator capabilities. Employees can be sent an email invitation, which they can accept or decline. If they opt in, Sales Navigator users at the company can see if they are connected to people they are searching for and looking for an introduction.
💡 You can have up to 1000 ‘Teamlink Entend’ licenses so this feature can dramatically increase your reach for introductions.
Reporting and admin functionality
With the Sales Navigator Advanced plan you get an admin and reporting facility to help manage the team. This area is accessed from the main navigation, as shown below.
The main function of this Admin section is to help manage the purchase and distribution of Sales Navigator Advanced licenses to team members, which is done in the People section. Within the People section, you can do things like create groups, invite ‘TeamLink Extend’ colleagues, Enterprise License Management, as well as view activity logs.
Another section in Admin is ‘Usage Reporting’ that enables the admin of the account to view the team’s activity and data about the account. This section is useful for identifying those utilising Sales Navigator fully, to support product adoption and refine strategy.
There is also an Admin Settings section in which the admin user can change what features users can have access to. In the example below, all AI features we reviewed in Part 1 of this series are activated for users to use them.
💡The Usage Reporting feature is useful for identifying who may need help, but also for team members who may not be utilising the tool enough. Big Brother is watching!
Summary
The Team Collaboration & Admin feature upgrades included with the Advanced Sales Navigator plan will benefit teamwork in several ways.
Sharing account and lead lists will save time and can help with the allocation of target accounts. TeamLink increases reach and enables more warm introductions, rather than going in cold and having to build trust from zero. The Reporting and Admin features enable the admin user to manage licenses and see who may need help. There’s no point paying for a Sales Navigator Advanced plan if someone isn’t going to use it effectively, or worst still, use it at all!
In this article, the focus was focused on the reasons to upgrade from Sales Navigator Core to Advanced, from the team perspective. In the third and last article in this series, we’ll be looking at the Data, Search & Insights features that individuals and teams alike will benefit from.
