Sales Navigator Core to Advanced: Part 1 – AI Tools
Many Sales Navigator account users don’t realise that there are 3 Sales Navigator plans: Core, Advanced, and Advanced Plus. Core is aimed at individuals; Advanced is aimed at Sales Teams (small); Advanced Plus is for sales teams of 10+ who use specific CRMs.
In this article, I’m going to review the benefits of upgrading from LinkedIn Sales Navigator Core to Advanced, with a focus on the AI tools (there are 3 tools).
This article will be the first of 3 articles with the Team Collaboration & Admin features highlighted in the second article, and the Data, Search & Insights features in the third article.
Once you have read all 3 articles, you’ll have the information to decide whether upgrading is worth considering.
AI Feature Upgrades
As with most upgrades, the Advanced plan includes all the features of the Core plan, plus additional functionalities that support team collaboration and save time. Let’s look at what AI tools you get from upgrading.
Account IQ
The Account IQ feature is on account pages. It provides Sales Navigator users with a single place to access key highlights about an account, rather than having to do extensive research across multiple sources. AI-powered company summaries are generated to support your account research and to prepare for meetings.
Here’s what information is generated:
As you can see, this is a comprehensive amount of information to peruse, and a huge timesaver.
💡Remember to add your product(s)/services(s) in settings to enable the how your product can help the company section. The more information you provide, the more the AI feature has to work with.
Lead IQ
Lead IQ is a feature available on Lead pages on Sales Navigator and is activated by clicking on the ‘Generate Lead IQ’ button. It provides an AI-generated summary of a lead and their company to help you engage with the lead, and saves time by bringing the insights into one place.
Here’s what it looks like:
Clicking on ‘Generate Lead IQ’ gives you:
The information in Lead IQ includes recent job updates, recent posts, network-related insights, strategic priorities, and business challenges for a lead’s company or account (generated by Account IQ), among other things.
On LinkedIn.com, there are insights too that carry onto someone’s LinkedIn profile:
💡Lead IQ gives a quick summary of insights to include in your message. If this summary shows a warm way in, do the research. Use it to identify those with whom you have a warm relationship.
Message Assist
Message Assist (public beta) helps you generate outreach messages with AI, saving you time and boosting your response rates. Message Assist uses Lead IQ insights (e.g., commonalities or recent activity on LinkedIn) alongside Account IQ data (e.g., strategic priorities or challenges) to suggest a draft to send to the prospect.
Sales Navigator has limits/rules on AI Assist messages:
1. You can only message 1 lead at a time.
2. You can only send a maximum of six AI-assisted messages per minute.
3. You can send a total of 50 AI-assisted messages per month.
4. Each message uses one InMail credit, though if the lead responds to your message, the credit will be returned.
Here’s what it produces:
💡The recipient of your message won’t be notified that AI assistance was used to draft your message. Use Message Assist to create a draft, but don’t blindly send what it creates. Read the message and alter it so you’re not being overly pushy/salesy and focusing on the best warm message.
Summary
The AI feature upgrades that come with the Advanced Sales Navigator plan will save you time and ultimately money. They will shortcut research to identify insights that will help you start conversations with prospects, write the message for you, and help you with research when you get a meeting.
Of the 3 AI features, the Account IQ feature is the most powerful (IMO). It pulls a lot of information into one place, which would take you a considerable amount of time to gather.
Lead IQ is good and does save time, as it presents Advanced users with an overview of a prospect’s work experience, commonalities, and recent activity.
Message Assistance uses Account and Lead IQ insights to suggest a message, including the best opening to start a conversation. Be careful with your use of this feature, as the messages it creates need additional work.
All these AI features are fairly new with Lead IQ and Message Assists still in beta, so future upgrades and improvements may be in the pipeline.
